“Yearster, we kept searching until we got word you were at Sunrise Orphanage. By the time we got there, you’d already left. The staff refused to say where you went, and after that, we had no leads left to follow.”

Olivia remained still, her eyes downcast and expression detached, as if lost in thought.

Everything they said lined up perfectly with what she knew, but the way they described it all in such detail made Olivia feel a strange sense of unease Something was off, but she couldn’t identify exactly what it was.

Grace studied the report, weighing Gina’s words. After a moment, she drew Olivia aside and murmured, “I think they’re telling the truth. The documents check out, and… you do have their eyes.”

Olivia nced at Gina before picking up a mirror to look at herself. But for some reason, she just didn’t see the resemnce.

Seeing Olivia’s hesitation, Gina put on a pitiful look, her smile turning anxious.

She fidgeted slightly before speaking. “Sweetheart, we’re not rich, but we get by. We’d never let you want for anything. We took out loans all these years to search for you. But your father and I have nearly paid them off. We’d never burden you with this.”

She started wiping her tears again. “If you don’t want us here, we’ll leave right now. We won’t be in your way.”

“Olivia,” Donald added, rubbing the back of his neck, “we just wanted to see you. We’re d to see you’re safe and happy.” He held out arge, worn cloth bag. “We brought some things from home. Nothing fancy, but it’s what we have.”

The bag sagged with its contents, but Olivia couldn’t make out what was inside.

Olivia closed her eyes for a moment, her face giving nothing away. Money was never a problem for her anyway. And these two truly seemed like parents who’d spent a lifetime searching for their missing daughter.

Grace watched, her throat tightening with emotion. She stepped forward to steady the couple’s trembling hands, her voice thick with conviction. “You’ve been through so much. I can’t imagine how difficult these years must have been for you.”

They started making small talk, and Grace gently asked about their family back home.

“We have a son too, but he’s had a tough life,” Gina replied, her smile strained. “But life hasn’t been kind to him. A childhood fever damaged his brain. Doctors say his mind will always stay at a child’s level.”

Grace shook her head and offered aforting smile. “Don’t worry, you still have Olivia.”

“Right, Bobby was thrilled when he heard we were going to find his sister. He really wanted toe, but we decided against it–he doesn’t do well with strangers, and we didn’t want to upset Olivia.” Her voice trembled with emotion.

Then she managed a smile. “But now, everything’s going to be okay. Soon, our family will finally be together again.”

Olivia studied her for a long moment, something unreadable passing behind her eyes.

Meanwhile, at the Orion Hotel, Andrew was tapping away on hisptop when he pressed his Bluetooth earpiece,

“Mr. Shea, Nathan has been trying to see you several times already, and he’s sent over gifts worth tens of millions. Should we take them or not?” Brandon Hayes, another subordinate of Andrew, asked.

“Yes, take them,” Andrew replied with a faint/smirk. “Why say no to freebies delivered right to our door? Just make sure you keep backups of everything.”

“So, are we really giving thend back to them?” Brandon pressed.

“Who said I have to give it back just because I took their gifts?” Andrew’s voice was cold and casual. “The Exams family thought they had they pho doings well? Why would I give them thend so they can keep screwing people over?”

“Mr. Shea, what’s on your mind?” Brandon muttered, exasperated. He couldn’t help but think, ‘Why did I ever choose to follow this unpredictablem
