Chapter 52
“Since the Evans family sent us a gift, we should return the favor,” Andrew said, his voice low and steady. “The things Jenny prepared cane in handy
now.”
Brandon shivered at his words. ‘You really know how to torment people, Mr. Shea,‘ he thought to himself.
“Alright, Mr. Shea. You have your fun. I’ll go take care of the rest,” Brandon said with a yful salute.
In the Evans Group’s executive conference room, Henry, Nathan, and the top brass were deep in discussion about the recent dip in stock prices and that piece ofnd the Shea family snatched up at a high price.
Justst night, the Evans family had their eye on a plot in the Hirica suburbs, nning to build a nursing home to partner with their hospital.
It promised a hefty profit, but at thest moment, the Shea family swooped in and stole it right out from under them.
Though Henry had long since crossed seventy, the scandals never ceased. And despite it all, he refused to relinquish his hold on the Evans Group.
For years, there’d been talk that he was a gold–digger living off women, and with Nathan recently getting kicked out of the hospital, things only got messier for thepany.
Now, the shareholders were seriously fed up with both Henry and Nathan, and even more frustrated that Henry wouldn’t step down.
With the Shea family snatching that crucial piece ofnd, thepany had lost a major asset. The disgruntled shareholders were more than ready to vent their frustrations at this opportunity.
“Henry, if we lose thisnd, you know we’ll be bleeding money. We’ve poured a fortune into medical equipment and sunk so much cash into this project. If it all goes up in smoke, who’s going to take responsibility for that kind of loss?” one shareholder snapped.
“Right, and do I even need to mention your son? We’re supposed to be a top medical group, but the chairman’s own son gets kicked out? That’s a PR nightmare,” another added.
“It’s time for a new chairman. We should let someonepetent take over,” a third shareholder chimed in.
Henry shook with rage under the shareholders‘ barrage, but he was at a loss for words.
Trying to keep the peace, he forced himself to sound humble. “Please, everyone, I’ve already sent someone to negotiate with Mr. Shea. I’ll do whatever it takes to get thatnd back. Just trust me on this.”
Nathan watched his father getting raked over the coals and finally cut in. “Come off it, Mr, Stafford. You never had a problem cashing those dividend checks. And let’s not pretend–we all know who really stirred the pot here.
“We’ll get thatnd back.” His voice brimmed with confidence. After all, the gift he’d prepared for Andrew was nothing short of priceless, and his assistant had just confirmed that Andrew had epted it.
Seeing Nathan so sure of himself, the shareholders started murmuring among themselves, their attitude clearly shifting.
Nathan stood off to the side, radiating confidence. He was here at this shareholders‘ meeting to prove himself. Since the hospital was a lost cause, his only hope now was to take over the family business.
Henry mmed his hand on the table and stood up, putting his reputation on the line. “Rest assured, everyone. Just give me ten days. I promise, thatnd will be ours again.”
At the hotel, Ethan handed Andrew the files with extra care. “Mr. Shea, this is everything we could find. As for the rest, our hacker team just can’t get in-
the Evans family’s security is locked down tight. Honestly, only Ms. Shes could pull this off”
Andrew stayed silent for a long time, a dangerous glint flickering in his eyes.
