?Chapter 1802:
Elyse replied, “They are from an anonymous sender. Sure, it could be a fan, but it could just as easily be someone who isn’t.”
Peyton spected, “Sounds like a secret admirer. Are the flowers meant for you?”
Elyse nodded with a sigh. “Exactly. Driscoll even assumed Jayden was the one sending me the flowers, but he wasn’t. He was furious for days when he found out.”
She had to go to great lengths to smooth things over with Jayden. By the time he was satisfied, she was left with aching muscles and an exhausted body.
Clive casually handed Elyse a fruit tter and said, “If someone is sending you flowers, they’re probably harmless. Whoever it is must really like you. You don’t have to be afraid.”
Peyton scoffed and immediately shot back, “Ipletely disagree. Even if it was from someone who liked her, that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be worried. That’s pretty creepy!”
Clive arched a brow at him and asked, “Why?”
Peyton looked at Elyse and exined, “Think about it. Someone’s lurking in the shadows, secretly watching you. Now and then, they send you flowers. One day, they will decide it’s time for a ‘romantic’ meeting. And who knows what else they might do?”
A shiver ran down Elyse’s spine. “It does sound creepy.”
Peyton nodded firmly. “Trust me. If you ever meet someone like that, never get close to them.”
Clive suddenly snapped, “Quit spouting nonsense!”
Peyton blinked, caught off guard by Clive’s outburst. “How is that nonsense? That’s exactly how creeps operate. They think leaving little surprises makes them romantic, but in reality, they are just lurking around, watching from the shadows.”
Clive’s jaw tightened, irritation flickering across his face. “Enough. Let’s not discuss such a disgusting topic. We are about to start dinner.”
Peyton said helplessly, “The dishes aren’t even here yet. What are we supposed to eat? Guess I’ll just snack on some fruit.”<fn03d8> Official source is FindN()vel</fn03d8>
Elyse looked at Clive curiously and asked, “Why do you look so upset? Did something we said bother you?”
Clive froze for a split second before shaking his head. “I’m not upset.”
Peyton pouted and said, “He’s not upset, but I am. He scolded me for no reason. I’m on the verge of tears.”
Clive grabbed a cake and shoved it into Peyton’s mouth, saying, “Gross! Stop being dramatic.”
Suddenly, the door swung open, and a waiter entered, carrying trays of steaming dishes.
As they dug into their meal, Jayden arrived.
The moment he stepped inside, he made a beeline for Elyse, settling beside her without hesitation. He wrapped an arm around her waist and kissed her cheek.
Elyse instinctively leaned in.
Peyton barely reacted—he was already used to it. On the other hand, Clive was not.
With an awkward expression, he muttered, “You two are really affectionate. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you like this before.”
