Chapter 1831

    ?Chapter 1831:

“Both of my eyes,” Shaun replied with a sheepish smile. “I can see it.”

“Your eyes must be broken,” she huffed, propping her chin on her hand with a dramatic sigh. “Try looking again.”

After a moment of silence, he said, “I meant what I said. I promise to make you happy. You don’t need to look at others with envy when I’m right here.”

Tracy tilted her head to shoot him another scorching re.

Thinking she didn’t believe him, he rushed to add, “I’m serious. I know I’ve made mistakes—plenty of them. But I finally see where I went wrong.”

Tracy’s voice was quieter now. “You hurt me. Over and over.”

“I know. I haven’t forgotten. That’s why it hurts me too.” Shaun reached for her hand. “I didn’t see it before, but now I understand—I was hurting the person I love. Maybe I’m not perfect at love, but I won’t make excuses. I don’t expect you to forgive me overnight. I just… want you to stay by my side.”

Tracy let out a breath, conflicted. “I know you’ve changed, but that doesn’t erase the past. I don’t know how to move forward from here.”

Shaun nodded slowly. “Then let’s figure it out together. This isn’t just your burden to carry—it’s ours.”

Tracy hesitated before ncing away. “Let’s talk about itter. I’m tired.”

Two months had passed since Peyton’s birthday party. Elyse, fresh off the stage from her theater performance, received a text from Edward.

They updated each other on recent life events, and then Edward ventured into the topic he was most curious about. “When are you and Jayden nning to organize your wedding and remarry?”

The message stopped Elyse in her tracks. When would she and Jayden remarry?

After all, she had once furiously handed him the divorce papers and left. Despite sharing a home now, they still hadn’t tied the knot again.

She pondered over whether to broach the subject of remarrying with Jayden. At that moment, Chloe came by, offering a drink. “Here, take a break and have this.”

epting the drink, Elyse mused, “Do you think Jayden and I should set a date to get married?”

Knowing their history, Chloe immediately replied, “Absolutely, you should get registered, and don’t skip a grand wedding either.”

Elyse expressed her doubts. “This would be my second marriage. Isn’t a grand wedding a bit much?”

“Why would it be too much?” Chloe questioned. “A grand wedding isn’t just for you. What if Jayden wants one?”

Elyse considered her words. “Maybe I should see what he thinks about it.”

Chloe nodded her agreement and said, “Take some time to rest now. I’ll check on you after I clean up here.”

Once Chloe departed, she sent a quick message to Jayden.

An hourter, back at home, Elyse noticed Jayden acting unusually secretive. Approaching him, she asked, “What’s with the secrecy? Are you keeping something from me?”

Jayden turned to her, his response quick and defensive. “No, I’m not hiding anything.”

Wanting to shift away from confrontation, Elyse brought up another matter. “I was thinking, shouldn’t we register for marriage? Living together after our divorce doesn’t feel right.”
