?Chapter 1857:
When Jayden woke up, it was already the afternoon.
Not finding Elyse beside him, he quickly got up to search for her and found her in the living room with Peyton and Tracy.
As Jayden met their gaze, a wave of guilt washed over him. He walked over to Elyse and carefully sat down beside her.
Tracy barely restrained her irritation and was the first to speak. “Oh, look who’s decided to show up. What happened? We thought you had disappeared for good.”
Elyse continued to sip her milk, her face unchanging, as if Tracy’s words hadn’t reached her ears.<fn57c4> Read full story at Find[F]ovel</fn57c4>
Jayden cleared his throat and began, “I really had urgent matters to attend to, but failing to contact Elyse was my mistake. I realize that now.”
Peyton, clearly exasperated, interjected, “Man, are you serious? Weren’t you about to propose to her? You could have done that first and then handled your issues. Do you have any idea how worried she’s been?”
Jayden shot Peyton a re. Why couldn’t he say something more supportive?
Peyton straightened, his tone sharp. “Why the re? I’m just stating facts. You’ve made a mess of things. Better apologize to Elyse, or you might lose her.”
Worried that Elyse might indeed leave, Jayden quickly said, “Elyse, I admit I was wrong. I’lle up with a new proposal n and make sure our wedding is wless.”
Elyse didn’t respond directly. Instead, she asked calmly, “How are things with Kieran?”
Jayden replied, “Last night, Theo came by. He’s going to help me handle the Fosters. He advised that I should focus on spending time with you right now.”
Elyse was taken aback, surprised by Theo’s offer of assistance. She paused for a moment and remarked, “I didn’t expect Theo to step in. It seems he’s really matured.”

With that, she stood up and walked toward the garden.
As soon as Elyse had left, Tracy dropped her facade and sharply threw a criticism. “I used to think you were clever and good for Elyse, but you’re just like Shaun, pletely clueless!”
She shot Jayden a re before hurrying after Elyse.
Peyton rubbed his nose, looking helpless as he said, “Look at the mess you’ve made. You still can’t get your priorities straight, and you botched the proposal.”
Jayden watched the direction Elyse had gone with a deep gaze. “I want to be with Elyse forever. That’s the truth, and it hasn’t changed. When I found out Kieran was targeting us, I felt threatened.”
Jayden paused, his sense of helplessness growing. “I just didn’t realize that in dealing with these issues, I’m still a stubborn fool, stuck in my old ways.”
Peyton responded, “Recognizing your problem is a good start. Elyse’s health isn’t strong. Be there for her now. She had a fever and couldn’t take any medicine. You weren’t there when she needed you most. How do you think that made her feel?”
Jayden nodded. “I understand. I’ll make sure to take good care of her from now on.”
Peyton nodded in agreement. “That’s right. Women need to feel cherished. If you neglect her, she’ll be hurt. When she no longer feels the same about you, that’s when you know she’s truly disillusioned.”
Jayden considered Peyton’s advice sound but was puzzled. “You haven’t been in many rtionships. How do you know all this?”
Peyton shot back, “It’s not about how many rtionships I’ve been in. I’ve known how to treat people right since I was young. It’s you guys who need to mature a bit.”
