Pierce’s voice cracks, strained and desperate, as Riot tightens the ropes around his wrists. Blood drips from a gash above his eyebrow, staining his face. My hands shake. I can’t move.

“Stop–just stop!” I scream, but Riot doesn’t even flinch. He’s calm, too calm, it’s making me suspicious of him.

There’s no way Pierce will sold me off right? I mean, he’s my brother and we’ve been through everything together,

Riot tilts his head, a cold smile ying on his lips. “Your brother made a deal, Jess. And you’re the price.”

    My heart stops. “What?”

Pierce’s eyes drop to the floor. He won’t look at me. “I didn’t have a choice,” he mumbles, voice trembling.

“A choice?” I snap, my voice breaking. ” So it’s fucking true?”

    Goddess. I couldn’t believe it.

“Pierce?” My voice is shaky. “What’s happening?”

He looks at me, his eyes ssy. Then, as if possessed, he starts to scream. It’s a sound I’ve never heard before–raw, agonizing. Then heughs and I’ve never been more terrified than seeing my own brother acting like this.

Riotughs, tossing the pliers aside and grabbing my arm. “Let’s go, sweetheart. Your brother’s got a long night ahead of him.”

I fight, but it’s no use. As I’m dragged out, Pierce’s voice follows me, weak and broken: “Jess… I’m sorry.”

That’s thest words I’ve heard from Pierce before he’s gone. I mean, I just slept for a few hours when both him and Riot were gone. I’m panicking, yelling and shoving Grayson but he’s not doing or telling me anything.

    “Grayson!”

“We’re here.” He kills the car and drags himself out of it, leaving me dumbfounded.

I step out, and the night is alive with howls. Wolves emerge from the shadows, their eyes locking onto me. I freeze as they close in, their growls vibrating through the ground.

Grayson steps forward, his voice calm but firm. “She’s with me.”

The wolves don’t stop. One lunges, and I scream, scrambling back. Grayson moves faster than I can process, grabbing the wolf by the scruff and throwing it to the ground. It yelps, and the others back off, their tails tucked.

“I said, she’s with me,” Grayson repeats, his tone low and dangerous.

The wolves retreat, but their eyes never leave me. I’m shaking, my heart racing. Grayson turns to me, his expression hard. “I need you to behave,” he says bluntly.

Before I can respond, a new figure emerges from the trees. Tall, imposing, with eyes that burn like embers. The Alpha.

“Who’s this?” he asks, his voice cold.

“She’s mine,” Grayson says, stepping between us.

    The Alpha’s lip curls. “Yours?”

Before Grayson can respond, the Alpha lunges. His hand closes around my throat, lifting me off the ground. I choke, kicking wildly, but his grip is unrelenting.

“Put her down, Nigel!” Grayson snarls, his fists clenched.

“You brought a human into our territory,” Nigel sneers. “What did you expect?”

“I said, put her down!” Grayson’s voice is a growl, low and dangerous.

Slowly, he releases me. I copse to my knees, gasping. Grayson’s at my side in an instant, his hands on my shoulders.

“You’re okay,” he murmurs, though his eyes are still locked on Nigel.

“Follow me,” Nigel growls before turning and disappearing into the shadows.

I look up at Grayson, my voice shaky. “What the hell was that?”

His expression softens, just for a moment. “A friend.”

    …

    :

    ES you w

A fucking friend? He just choked me!

Grayson doesn’t say another word as he follows Nigel deeper into the pack’s territory. The ce is a maze of dense forest and hidden trails, every step taking us further away from anything resembling safety.

Finally, we reach a clearing where a massive fire pit burns, surrounded by pack members. They all turn to stare at us as we enter, their eyes narrowing on me.

“Grayson,” one of them says, his voice deep and using. “What the hell is this?”

“This,” Grayson says, his tone steady but firm, “is my guest. She’s under my protection.”

The man snorts, his eyes raking over me. “She’s an omega. What’s an omega doing here? You know the rules.”

My heart skips a beat as I nce around. There’s something off about them. Their presence is overwhelming, suffocating. And then it hits me–every single one of them radiates the same raw, untamed energy as Grayson. All alphas. A pack of alphas.

Grayson steps forward, shielding me slightly. “The rules are mine to enforce, Kade. Not yours.”

Kade’s eyes narrow, and he takes a step closer. “I heard you burned your whole pack.”

    What?

    My breath hitches.

“Careful, Kade,” Grayson growls, his voice low and dangerous. “You’re treading on thin ice.”

Kade smirks, but there’s no humor in it. “And what are you gonna do about it? You’re a lone wolf now. No pack, no allies. Just you and your

    your little omega.”

His words sting, but worse–he’s not wrong. It’s just us and if the other pack knows, then we’re good as dead. I don’t know Grayson’s part of this pack either. It’s a pack of alphas and I swear, that’s going to save our life.

Grayson’s hand twitches at his side, and I can feel the anger rolling off him in waves. I want to step back, to run, but my feet are rooted to the ground.

“Here’s what’s gonna happen,” Kade continues, his voice dripping with malice. “We fight. You win, I’ll answer you as the alpha. You lose, and she’s mine.”

“You touch her, and I’ll tear you apart.”

Kade chuckles, a low, dark sound. ” Coward much, Graydog?”

“Grayson,” I whisper, barely audible, but he hears me. His head snaps toward me, and for a second, the anger in his eyes softens.

“Don’t worry,” he says, his voice low but firm. “We’re leaving.”

Kadeughs, but it’s hollow. “Running again, Gray? What’s next? Hiding in the woods with your little omega?”

I flinch, but Grayson doesn’t move. His hand shoots out, mping around Kade’s throat faster than I can blink. “I’m not fucking fight you, Kade.”

I’ve always known Grayson is possessive of me.

Grayson’s grip tightens around Kade’s throat, and for a moment, I think he might actually kill him. My chest tightens, but I can’t look away. I’ve seen Grayson angry before, but this…this is something else. This is primal, raw, and it scares me in a way I can’t exin.

“Grayson, stop,” I whisper, my voice trembling. “Please?”

Grayson finally lets go, shoving Kade back with a force that sends him stumbling. He doesn’t say a word, just grabs my wrist and pulls me toward the exit. The pack of alphas parts for us, but their eyes burn into my back, and I can feel their judgment like a physical weight.

“Grayson,” I say again, my voice firmer this time. He doesn’t stop, but his grip on my wrist loosens slightly. “He’s right, isn’t he? We need their help. That’s why we are here!”

He stops abruptly, turning to face me. His eyes are dark, stormy, and I can see the conflict raging inside him. ” I’m not going to bet you,” he growls, his voice low and rough. “I’m not going to do that, Wilkinson.”

    Wilkinson.

My chest tightens, but I’m not backing down.

I step closer, my hand reaching out to touch his face. “I have absolute faith in you.”

    “Grayson, look at me.”

He leans into my touch, his eyes searching mine for something–answers, maybe. Or hope. “I don’t want to do this, Jess,” he says, his voice breaking. “I’m so tired of fighting, baby.”

    I know.

I’m tired too, but we have to fight. It’s a long way for us to win, and I… we can’t lose. My heart aches as I stare at him, his eyes locked on mine. I can see the pain in them, the exhaustion, the

fear. My thumb brushes over his cheek, and I feel the faintest tremor in his body.

“I have loved you and hated you but I never lost my trust in you, Grayson. So fight Kade. I want you to fight Kade and show everyone you’re the alpha. My alpha.”
