Somehow, Maximus listened to Den, he let go of the warrior’s neck, who dropped to the ground, breathing heavily, while clutching his neck. He thought he was going to die. He breathed the air greedily to fill his lungs.
If he could, he would have shifted into his beast, and had ast attempt to kill the king himself, but unfortunately, for someone like him, it was not possible to shift in such condition, because you could only shift when you were not under such duress.
Someone with the higher rank might be able to do so, but a young warrior like him was definitely not capable to do it.
“Maximus, you went out of the line,” Den said, but he stopped himself when he saw the look on the king’s face. He shouldn’t have said such thing when he was mad, especially in front of other people.
The royal beta knew he crossed the line, and lowered his head. Maximus was out of his sanity, it was not tactful to confront him when he was in this state.
Thankfully, Eiten decided to speak, and dismiss the warrior.
The warrior thanked them, and stood up, he was about to leave the room when suddenly he felt this excruciating pain in his chest, and when he looked down, he saw the king’s hand protruded from his chest.
He was too shock to react, but then he didn’t have to, because the next thing that happened was the king pulled out his hand from his chest, and he ripped his heart.
The warrior dropped death on the floor the next second with his heart was still beating in the king’s hand before he crushed it savagely.
Neither Eiten, nor Den couldprehend what happened until it was done. But then, even if they knew, there was nothing they could do to prevent this from happening. It was too fast.
“Ask someone to clean this up,” Maximus said, and the he walked away from there, leaving his royal beta and his royal gamma a bloody corpse.
The warriors outside, who saw the king immediately fell to their knees, because they were scared. This was one of the days where the king had lost his sanity and would kill anyone, who even wronged him even in the. slightest.
Even if they saw him I the wrong way, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill them right there and then, which made them trembled in fear upon realizing what they were going to deal with until who knew how long.
The king could be in his murderous mood for a day or two, or it couldst for a whole week, which would make the pce’s air polluted by the smell of blood.
Meanwhile, those warriors‘ assumption couldn’t be far from the truth, because that was how Maximus felt. He had this strong urge to kill all the warriors that he found, leaving blood trails in his wake.
Yet, after a few times trying to tame his rage whenever he was with Rania, he could control his impulsiveness a little bit. In his mind, he only wanted to see her.

Therefore, the only blood in his hand was the remaining of the warrior’s crushed heart. The wound from where he wed his arm had healed too.
Along the corridor, all the warriors and servants fell on their knees, while the other tried to avoid him, just in case they breathed wrong in his presence.
The word of the king’s madness spread around quickly, and all of them were aware of the king’s dark mood.
They prayed thedy would be fine, since the king was heading to her bedroom.
On the other hand, Rania was rearranging her clothes inside the walk in closet, she liked them, but she didn’t think she would wear them, because they were too bright and fancy for her taste.
It almost like when she saw a delicious food, but she still couldn’t feel anything. That was how she felt about these dresses.
However, it made her happy because she didn’t think she would have such nice clothes. This was even better than the one that her stepsister had. She liked to stare at them. It gave her little happiness.
But then, she heard a loud bang from outside, as if someone kicked down her door, which made her startled, but her instinct told her to get out and check what happened.
Rania did that, and found Maximus walked toward her, with his bloody hand. The sight was very scary, as blood sttered on his clothes.
“What happened?” Rania asked, she was scared of him. She didn’t do anything that could cause him to be angry, she tried so hard not to make her appearance as a nuisance. She didn’t even go out, just in case she would bump into Maximus and annoy him.
However, the king always found a reason toe to her, and mostly he woulde in a dark mood. She couldn’t guess what kind of mood when he came to her. And right now, it must be the darkest.
Rania gulped down when Maximus didn’t slow down when he closed the proximity between them. She wanted to flee, which was an impossible thing to do, since the king blocked her only way to escape.
“What happened with your hand?” Rania asked, her voice was trembling slightly, despite her effort to keep it steady.
Maximus didn’t say anything, but when he was close enough with her, he pulled her into a tight hug. He buried his face against the crook of her neck, which startled Rania.
As the royal family and a king, Maximus had a well built body. He was tall, and muscr, it was a typical of the sovereign’s appearance.
Therefore, whenever he hugged her like this, it almost felt like he could engulf her body wholly. He was strong enough to break her every bone, and Rania was sure he could do it with ease.
However, his touch was rather gentle.
Rania could feel the rumbled in his chest, as if he was holding back strong emotions. She didn’t know what happened, or whose blood was that.

“What happened?” Rania asked again, instinctively, she rubbed his back in a soothing motion, which made the king let out a relief grunt. The sound was rather intoxicating in her ears.
“I killed a warrior,” Maximus said, his breath was hot against Rania’s skin, which made her shudder.
“Why?” Rania felt her heart stopped beating. She knew the king had killed someone by seeing the amount of blood, but what he said next caught her out of guard.
“I killed the warrior, who said that he didn’t see Killian enter your room.”
Rania was stunned for a while. She didn’t say anything, and the silence that befell between them was rather suffocating. There were thousands of questions that rummaged Rania’s head.<fn943d> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? find?novel</fn943d>
“Do you… believe me? Do you have evidence that Killian was in my room?” The hope in her voice must be palpable, because Maximus didn’t answer her immediately, and Rania waited while holding her breath.
“No. I don’t have the evidence. He denied it until the end.”
