Shortly after eight in the morning, Charlie drove the elderly man away from the vi.
Although there were still over two hours until the ne’s arrival, Jacob could hardly contain his anticipation.
As they departed from Thompson First, Jacob eagerly turned to Charlie and asked, “My dear son-inw, do you know where I could find a bouquet of flowers? I want to buy some roses for Matilda.”
Charlie responded, “Dad, remember that your ssmate will be bringing her son with her today. Do you really think it’s appropriate to give her roses in front of him?”
Jacob paused for a moment, then nodded in agreement. “You’re right. I’ll just go for a regr bouquet instead.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
“I know a flower shop nearby,” Charlie said. “Let’s go there and pick out a bouquet.”
Once they reached the flower shop, Charlie spent five hundred dors to have the florist create a bouquet that symbolized friendship. He then returned to the car, where Jacob was waiting eagerly.
Jacob was thrilled as he held the bouquet, smiling and saying, “This florist is so professional! The bouquet looks impressive and generous! I’m sure Matilda will love it!”
Charlie smiled softly, thinking to himself that Jacob was truly experiencing a second spring. If Matilda still had feelings for Jacob after all these years, perhaps they could rekindle their romance.
As these thoughts crossed his mind, Charlie felt a wave of sympathy for the old man.
For the sake of his wife, he knew he couldn’t erase ine from existence entirely. Thus, he allowed Jacob to enjoy his time with his first love. However, when ine was released from the detention center in a few days, Jacob would have to face her demands and the difficult times thaty ahead.
If ine discovered that Matilda had returned to Aurous Hill, it would surelyplicate matters, leading to an even more miserable existence for Jacob.
Charlie kept these thoughts to himself, understanding that his father-inw was currently filled with happiness and excitement. He wanted Jacob to savor this fleeting moment of freedom with Matilda before ine’s return!
At that moment, Jacob asked, “Oh, Charlie, did you reserve a room at Shangri-La for us?”
“Yes, I’ve already booked the room,” Charlie confirmed with a nod. “Rest assured that everything is prepared for you. I guarantee that you and Aunt Matilda will have a wonderful time today.”
“That’s great! That’s great!” Jacob sighed in relief, ncing at the bouquet in his hands. He picked up the lone rose, inhaled its fragrance, and eximed, “Ah! This scent is simply delightful!”
After saying this, he couldn’t help but hum an old tune: “Rose, rose, I love you, rose. Rose, rose, love…”
Charlie shook his head with a secret sigh. He never anticipated that his father-inw would be such a romantic at this stage in life.
…
Upon arriving at the airport, they made their way to the arrival hall to await Matilda and her son. Jacob’s eyes were glued to the arrival screen, and after a lengthy search, he finally spotted Matilda’s flight.
The estimatednding time was 10:20 AM, meaning there was still an hour to go. Since they were returning from abroad, the immigration process would take some time, so Matilda likely wouldn’t emerge until around eleven o’clock.
Jacob was buzzing with excitement, hardly feeling tired despite having stood for over an hour.
About five minutes before eleven, a group of people began to exit. Jacob focused intently on them, bouquet in hand. Suddenly, he spotted a middle-aged woman in a ck dress and waved enthusiastically, calling out, “Matilda!”<fne6cd> This content belongs to find?novel</fne6cd>
Matilda paused, momentarily surprised, then eximed, “Oh my god, Jacob!”
She stepped forward, moving closer to Jacob.
Charlie, intrigued, was eager to see what his father-inw’s first love looked like.
As he took in the sight of her, he was pleasantly astonished!
Matilda was the same age as Jacob, both of them forty-eight years old this year. However, she certainly didn’t appear to be in herte forties!
Tall and slender, Matilda had a radiantplexion and elegant features. Dressed in a long ck gown, she resembled a graceful goddess, plete with a dignified hairstyle.
