The Amazing son in law Chapter 861

The lunch gathering at Shangri-La turned out to be both delightful and enjoyable. Jacob and Matilda were both in high spirits. Although Matilda had been feeling unwell following her husband’s passing, her mood seemed to brighten, as if the clouds had parted.

Paul felt a sense of joy seeing his mother in such a cheerful state.

On the other hand, Charlie harbored sympathy for his father-inw.

This sympathy stemmed from the realization that Matilda was simply too perfect for Jacob. Charlie couldn’t help but worry about what might happen when such a morous, elegant, and wealthy woman returned to Aurous Hill as a singledy. She would undoubtedly attract considerable attention, particrly from affluent older gentlemen, which could lead toplications for Jacob.

After a long journey back to China, Matilda and Paul were feeling quite tired. Following lunch, Jacob and Charlie escorted them to their room at Shangri-La.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Once again, Jacob was surprised to find out that Matilda and Paul had checked into the ultra-luxurious executive suites.

The executive suite at Shangri-La ranked just below the presidential suite, which amodates four guests. The nightly rate was in the tens of thousands of dors. This further highlighted Matilda’s impressive financial standing, as they could afford to stay in such an opulent room.

After saying their goodbyes, Charlie and Jacob left the hotel together.

As they stepped out of the hotel, Jacob looked up at the sky, inhaled deeply, and let out a heavy sigh.

“Dad, what’s bothering you?” Charlie inquired.

Jacob frowned and replied, “I never expected Matilda to lead such a wonderful life in the United States. She even runs her ownw firm! I feelpletely useless…”

Charlie smiled, gave his father a reassuring pat, and said, “Dad, I really don’t believe Aunt Matilda thinks any less of you. She’s very humble and down-to-earth; she doesn’t seem materialistic at all. Try not to get hung up on these superficial differences!”

Jacob sighed once more, “I get what you’re saying, but as a man, I can’t help but feel inferior and embarrassed.”

“Dad, you’re overthinking this. Just look at me. When ire and I got married, I had nothing—no money, no status, no family background, absolutely nothing. The gap between ire and me was far greater than yours with Aunt Matilda. Yet here we are, living a happy life together, right?”

Jacob paused, taken aback by his son’s words, and fell silent as he absorbed the message.

Charlie was correct. None of his worries or insecurities mattered now because, given his current situation, bridging that gap felt impossible.

But did that mean he could never be with Matilda just because he couldn’t close the gap?<fnd0b0> Readplete version only at Find?Novel</fnd0b0>

    Absolutely not!

Jacob could still sense that Matilda held feelings for him, even after all these years. In fact, at the airport, she mentioned that she wouldn’t mind if he picked her up on a bicycle.

This clearly indicated that she wasn’t concerned about superficial material possessions.

Eventually, he felt a sense of relief wash over him.

However, another significant issue soon upied his thoughts.<h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
