Lisa guided Charlie to the dormitory section of the orphanage, where he immediately recognized the building he once called home.
As he peered out the window, Charlie noticed a group of a dozen or more toddlers, all around one to two years old, happily ying under the watchful eye of one of the caretakers at the orphanage.
Curiosity got the better of him, and he asked, “Lisa, why are there so many young children here now?”
Lisa responded, “There are many irresponsible parents who abandon their children right at the entrance of the orphanage shortly after giving birth. Some of these little ones were left behind due to congenital disabilities or illnesses, while others, like me, were abandoned simply because they were girls.”
She let out a sigh, filled with empathy for those children.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Continuing, she expressed her frustration, “Additionally, there are numerous children who were kidnapped by human traffickers butter rescued by the police. Some of them are so young that it’s impossible for authorities to identify their parents. For now, they are ced in our care at the orphanage until their families can be found.”
Noticing that some of the children had physical disabilities, Charlie inquired, “Lisa, why are there so many disabled children here? Are their conditions congenital?”
“No,” Lisa replied with indignation. “These children were all healthy before. They were rescued from human traffickers who purposely harmed them, rendering them disabled, to force them to beg on the streets. These criminals destroyed their lives in an instant, turning innocent kids into their sources of ie.”
ire, who had been listening intently, eximed angrily, “Those people are monsters! How could anyone do this to healthy children?”
Lisa nodded, adding, “There are truly heartless individuals out there who have no conscience. They are able-bodied yet pretend to be disabled to beg for money. Eventually, they discover it’s easy to earn money this way, so they look for disabled individuals to increase their credibility. When they can’t find enough, they resort to abducting children and inflicting harm on them to make it easier to beg.”
ire trembled with rage and blurted out, “People like that deserve severe punishment!”<fn49e4> ???s ??????? ?s ?????? ?? Find1Novel</fn49e4>
Charlie sighed, sharing his experience, “I’ve heard about such beggar syndicates during my time working at the construction site. They often consist of rtives or vigers who team up to beg inrger cities. Some of them are particrly ruthless and target minors.”
He continued, “Remember that Indian movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ we watched about two years ago? It featured a beggar syndicate leader who blinded a talented young child so he could sing and beg. It may seem like such horrors are far away, but they happen much closer to home than we realize.”
ire eximed, “I never imagined such evil existed around us. If I had known, I would have pursued a career inw enforcement to help bring them to justice!”
Lisa sighed in response, “The unfortunate truth is that the profit margins in these syndicates are incredibly high. Many are willing to risk everything for the chance to make that kind of money.”
Feeling the weight of the conversation, Lisa quickly suggested, “It’s gettingte. Let’s head to the restaurant. Some of our friends might already be there.”
Charlie nodded in agreement, saying, “Yes, let’s go to the restaurant first.”
The three of them left the orphanage together. As they walked, Charlie suddenly asked Lisa, “By the way, is the orphanage facing any challengestely?”
Lisa smiled and replied, “We always face various challenges, but we manage to get by. The children’s living conditions have improvedpared to what we experienced growing up. The only downside is that the ssrooms, dormitories, and cafeteria are quite old. The dean has been applying for funding in hopes of raising money for renovations, but the higher-ups have consistently told him that the finances are too tight, and no funds will be avable for now.”
Charlie listened attentively, taking every word to heart.<h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
