The Amazing son in law Chapter 1494

ire felt a warm glow from Charlie’s light-hearted remarks.

Unable to resist, she walked over to Charlie, nestled into his embrace, gazed up at the twinkling stars above, and joyfully eximed, “After the New Year, we’ll be celebrating four wonderful years of marriage!”

“Yeah,” Charlie replied, letting out a sigh, “It’s incredible how quickly time has passed.”

“Quickly?” ire responded with sincerity, “I wouldn’t say that at all. So much has happened in these four years, especially regarding you; there have been so many changes.”

Charlie yfully touched his nose and asked, “What changes are you talking about?”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

With a nod, ire exined, “Oh, you’ve changed a lot! Your feelings towards others, along with your overall aura and demeanor, seem so differentpared to when we first got married.”

As she spoke, she murmured softly, “It’s strange, though. Even though the change feels significant, there are moments when it all seems quite natural, as if this is just who you are…”

Charlie let out a gentle sigh and said, “Oh, my dear wife, I wanted to let you know that I’ve made ns to head to Eastcliff for some Feng Shui work, and I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning.”

“Leaving tomorrow?” ire said, surprised. “Why are you in such a hurry?”

Charlie smiled and exined, “It’s the twelfth lunar month, and the Chinese New Year is just twenty days away. Our clients over there are feeling the pressure; they all want to wrap up their affairs before the holiday, and we can’t hold them back.”

ire nodded, her expression serious. “Husband, while I understand that Feng Shui can be profitable, I really don’t want you to be away from home frequently. I’ve been reflecting on our nearly four years of marriage, and it seems we’ve never been apart, day or night. The thought of you being away in Eastcliff for several days makes me uneasy…”

With a hint of mncholy, she continued, “As you know, my parents’ rtionship has never been strong. Ever since my mom lost over two million in gambling and ended up in detention due to MLM, my dad seems to have lost all affection for her. Especially with Matilda suddenly reappearing, things have only gotten worse between them…”

“Every evening when I return home to find them bickering and resentful, it weighs heavily on me. You provide me with warmth at home, and without you for several days, I’m not sure how I’ll cope with them.”

Charlie pulled her closer and reassured her, “Let’s not dwell on parental issues; try not to let it bother you too much. It will pass, and I’ll finish my work quickly and return home.”

“Right,” ire said with a smile. “Oh, and by the way, you haven’t been to Eastcliff yet, right? This time, you could take the chance to explore! Eastcliff is rich in history and culture!”

    Charlie offered a wry smile.

His wife believed he grew up in Aurous Hill Welfare Institute. Little did she know, he had actually spent his early years in Eastcliff, leaving only at the age of eight.

However, he was d that ire remained unaware of his true background, so he responded with a smile, “Absolutely! I’ll make sure to take the time to see more while I’m there.”

ire beamed at him. “When my grandfather was alive, he took me to Eastcliff several times. He had such a deep affection for that ce! He often told me that our ancestors had a close connection to a prominent family in Eastcliff, who treated our family with kindness, especially after the war when some domestic ves were released.”<fn50e0> For more chapters visit find?novel</fn50e0>

Continuing, she added, “However, my family’ster sess can also be attributed to the generous settlement allowances given to us when we were freed.”

Charlie curiously asked, “Did your grandfather ever mention the name or background of that prominent family?”

“No, he never did,” ire replied, shaking her head. “But he always expressed regret for not being able to repay their kindness. Since I was a child, he’s been talking about it for nearly twenty years! But in recent years, he seems to havee to terms with it and doesn’t bring it up anymore.”

As she reminisced, ire suddenly realized, “Come to think of it, it seems he hasn’t mentioned it once since we got married!”
