After ire’s cheerful remark, Charlie chuckled but remained silent.
He understood why Father Wilson ceased discussing this matter after marrying ire. Father Wilson believed that marrying ire and starting a family with her was his way of repaying the Wade Family.
However, he had no intention of sharing this thought with ire.
Suddenly, ire looked up at the sky and eximed with delight, “Wow! It’s really snowing!”
Charlie lifted his gaze, and a cold snowkended on his forehead, quickly melting away.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Initially, only a few snowkes fell sporadically, but within ten minutes, the night sky was filled with a flurry of snow.
In Aurous Hill, a city in the south, such heavy snowfall is quite a rarity.
ire twirled joyfully in the snow, her happiness reminiscent of a child.
As the snow continued to fall more heavily, she led Charlie to the yard, collecting a lightyer of snow from the car roof. “If it keepsing down like this, we can build a snowman and have a snowball fight tomorrow!” she dered.
Charlie nodded, a wistful smile on his face. “I haven’t built a snowman in years.”
Hisst experience was nearly a decade ago in the orphanage, where he and his friend Caleb, along with Lisa, the orphanage sister, constructed a gigantic snowman in the open space.
Time had flown by since then.
The snowfall in Aurous Hill grew increasingly heavy, dominating social media feeds like Moments and TikTok. Even Lord Moore shared a post showcasing the snowy scene from his vi, captioned with four words: “The Coming New Year.”
Jasmine also posted on Moments. Her message was simple, with no picture: “I wrote your name in the snow. I was afraid that people would see it clearly, so I wiped it away…”
Charlie suspected that the “you” in her message referred to him, but he chose not to react orment.
That evening, Charlie spent hours ying in the snow with ire until after midnight, when they finally returned to their room to rest.
As Charliey on his side of the bed, he tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
With less than ten hours remaining before his return to Eastcliff after 18 years, he felt a mix of emotions.
ire, too, was still awake. Suddenly, she crawled over to Charlie’s side of the bed, wrapped her arms around him from behind, and whispered softly, “My husband, when you leave tomorrow, I will miss you…”
Charlie gently nodded, stroking her delicate hands, feeling a wave of emotion swell within him.
That night, Charlie struggled to fall asleep.
Fortunately, his body was ustomed to long nights, and he felt no difort from staying awake.
Knowing he had to arrive at the airport before nine for his ten o’clock flight, he woke up early.
When he got out of bed, ire, who had been upte making snowmen, was still fast asleep.
Not wanting to disturb her, Charlie left a note on the bedside: “My wife, I’m leaving. Wait for me toe back.”
Afterward, he got dressed, grabbed his wallet and credentials, tucked a few rejuvenating pills into his pocket, and left the bedroom.
Downstairs, ine, his mother-inw, appeared from the kitchen wearing an apron, and affectionately eximed, “Oh my son-inw, why are you up so early today?”
Charlie replied, “I’m heading to Eastcliff today and won’t be back for a few days.”
ine quickly responded, “Oh, you’re leaving today? Mom made you preserved egg and lean meat porridge. Have a bowl before you go!”
Charlie waved his hand, saying, “No, I have to leave early to catch my flight.”
ine insisted, “Oh, then I’ll pack it for you!”
She hurriedly followed him to the door.
“Good son-inw, are you driving to the airport?”
Charlie shook his head, “No, I’ll take a taxi.”
ine blurted out, “Why not let your dad drive you? He’s idle anyway.”<fn7c89> Content originallyes from find[?]ovel</fn7c89>
