Hank realized he had promised to be refreshed, and since he could no longer find excuses for his troubles, he clenched his teeth and dered, “Alright! Just wait for the results of your physical examination! If you haven’t recovered, then your health condition is clearly not suitable for you to continue as chairman of the board. You should step down and let someone healthy take your ce!”
Charlie, who had remained silent until now, smiled and replied, “If the chairman’s position requires good health, I doubt that either you or your brother meet that standard.”
Hank, unable to hold back, yelled, “Don’t talk nonsense! I am perfectly healthy!”
“Really?” Charlie scoffed. “If I’m not mistaken, you’ve lost your fertility, right? You can’t even reproduce, yet you still im to be in good health? For you, is the ability to have children not significant at all?”
Hank had been suppressing his frustration over his fertility issues. In the past, he would have confronted Charlie without hesitation, but he had been holding back to prioritize his ambition of taking over as chairman.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
However, he never expected Charlie to openly mock him about his condition, which ignited his anger. He shot back, “Wade, I’ve already looked into your background! Don’t think I’m unaware of who you are. Aren’t you just the son-inw of Aurous Hill? What are you trying to prove in front of me?”
Seeing Hank lose his temper, Carl also stood up, gritting his teeth and cursing, “Wade, what trick did you pull? If you don’t restore normalcy today, don’t me me for being harsh! Even if your boss protects you, we won’t let you off easily!”<fn9109> Newest update provided by find·novel</fn9109>
At the far end of the conference room, Trevor and Daniel were struggling to contain their anger towards Charlie. They had remained silent, hoping to let Hank and Carl take the lead. But now, as they witnessed the two attacking Charlie, they decided to join in.
Trevor threatened, “Charlie! If you don’t provide us with a satisfactory solution, I’ll make sure you’re sent back to Aurous Hill in an urn!”
Daniel chimed in, “You won’t even get a chance to return; I’ll just scatter your ashes!”
Orrin, visibly upset, shouted, “Who do you think you are? Just because I’m recovering doesn’t mean you can walk all over me!”
Charlie remained calm, offering a slight smile. “Uncle Orrin, you’ve just recovered from a serious illness. Don’t let these people provoke you. Let me handle this.”
He then turned to the other shareholders, speaking kindly, “Everyone, what’s about to happen doesn’t concern the board of directors. Please step out for a moment.”
The shareholders looked to Orrin for guidance.
Orrin nodded, saying, “Alright, everyone can leave. There will be a reception in the press hall downstairs shortly. You can head there and wait.”
Without hesitation, everyone stood up and exited the meeting room in an orderly fashion.
As the door closed behind them, Orrin leaned toward Charlie and said, “Charlie, the room has been soundproofed. Even if a gun were fired inside, no one outside would hear it. You can speak freely.”
Charlie smiled back and replied, “Thanks, Uncle Orrin.”
Hank and the others turned pale with shock upon hearing this.
They understood Charlie’s strength; neither the God of War nor the Realm Master could rival him. If a confrontation were to happen, they wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
Trying to appear unfazed, Hank shouted, “Listen! I am the second master of the Sun family! My status is far beyond your reach, so it’s best you don’t push me, or you’ll regret it!”
Charlie simply chuckled at Hank’s bravado and replied, “Don’t be so arrogant. First, you should understand who I really am!”
