Cynthia walked briskly, her stride firm as she headed straight for the dining table where Charlie sat.

Isaac Cameron followed closely behind her, maintaining a respectful demeanor.

As Cynthia approached Charlie, she smiled warmly and eximed, “Oh, Charlie! It’s been so many years! You’ve grown into such a handsome young man!”

Charlie looked at Cynthia and felt a wave of childhood memories wash over him.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

Chuckling to himself, he replied, “I’m about to turn 27, so I’m neither a kid nor a teenager anymore.”

Cynthia returned his smile affectionately, saying, “You really resemble your dad! It’s like you were cast from the same mold!”

Charlie nodded, grinning, “Auntie, you haven’t changed muchpared to all those years ago.”

Cynthiaughed, “It feels like a dozen or twenty years have just flown by in the blink of an eye! I’m nearly 50 now; of course, I’m not the same as before.”<fn0472> Checktest chapters at Find★Novel</fn0472>

At that moment, Isaac Cameron had carefully pulled out Cynthia’s chair.

As Cynthia took her seat, she nced over at Charlie, who remained seated in his chair without standing up. A flicker of dissatisfaction crossed her mind.

Traditionally, younger members of the family should stand respectfully when elders arrive. When the elders speak, the younger ones are expected to lean in and listen attentively. The younger generation should wait until the elder is seated before taking their own seats.

However, Charlie seemedpletely oblivious to this etiquette; he didn’t even bother to stand. This annoyed Cynthia immensely.

Deep down, she never held a favorable opinion of Charlie. Ideally, she preferred he stay away permanently. But she was taken aback when he suddenly reappeared after years away, seemingly to stake a im in the Wade Family’s assets. What irritated her even more was that the old man not only gifted him an Emgrand Group but also a staggering 10 billion in cash, and now he wanted to reintegrate him into the family.

Cynthia observed Charlie, who wore simple clothes and exuded an easy-going air, seemingly ignorant of proper etiquette. She thought to herself, “What right does someone like him have to return to the Wade family? Every direct member of the Wade family has received elite education since childhood and studied abroad. Inparison, Charlie spent just a year as a senior in Aurous Hill; the difference is night and day. Allowing someone so unrefined back into the family would be a disgrace!”

Despite her disdain for Charlie, Cynthia felt unable to reject her father’s wishes. After her separation from her husband, her hope was to return to the Wade family and secure a share of its wealth.

However, as a married woman seeking to reim her family’s assets, she had her reservations about Corran and Myles, her brothers.

To gain her father’s support for her ambitions, Cynthia knew she needed to y her cards right. Typically, she held herself above others in the Wade family, and while she was used to being in charge, she never dared to defy her father.

Whenever her father requested something, she always did her best to please him.

With this in mind, she reminded herself, “This time, I must execute my father’s ns wlessly! I should aim not just to persuade Charlie to return to the Wade family but at least to ensure he agrees toe back for the Lunar New Year and spend time with the old man!”

With her dissatisfaction for Charlie pushed aside, she smiled and said, “Charlie, it sounds like you’ve had a tough time in Aurous Hill these past few years. Our family hasn’t seen you in ages; everyone misses you dearly. When do you n toe home and visit?”<h3 ss="has-text-align-center" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
