The co-driver, Loreen, had just finished a call with ire when she turned to Sam and cryptically advised, “Loreen, just head over to Charlie’s house by yourself. I really don’t want to see him, even for a moment.”

    Sam sighed heavily, “Loreen, you don’t understand. I’ve met Charlie only twice, and both times ended badly! The first time, I swallowed a ne and had to have an operation. The second time, he forced me to ride a bike all the way from Eastcliff to Aurous Hill. If I see him again, who knows what he’ll make me do? What if he decides to send me to Africa to mine?”


    Loreen replied earnestly, “Brother, you’re overthinking this. Charlie isn’t a bad person at heart. He only retaliates when others bully him. Just be humble and low-key around him; trust me, he won’t cause you any trouble.”


    Sam had lingering doubts, “That may be true, but he’s unpredictable. How can I be sure I won’t identally offend him with something I say?”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">


    Loreen suggested, “If that’s the case, just keep your talking to a minimum. When you see Charlie, respectfully address him as Mr. Wade and don’t say anything else.”


    Sam pleaded, “Why don’t you just go alone? I’ll wait for you in the car outside.”


    Loreen shot back, “I already told ire that you’d being with me. She must have mentioned it to Charlie. If you don’t show up and I go in alone, Charlie might think you have an issue with him! He could think you’re disrespecting him!”


    After a brief pause, Loreen added, “If he ends up being upset with you, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Remember, Aurous Hill is his territory. You can’t even stand up to him in Eastcliff, let alone here!”


    Hearing this, Sam recoiled slightly and murmured, “Alright, alright, I’ll go…”


    Loreen emphasized, “I’m serious! Charlie is actually easy to deal with, but you have to show him respect. Be polite, and he’ll be polite back. If you try to act tough, you’re done for.”


    She continued, “Once, I went to a hot spring with Charlie and ire, and some jerk scratched my car and then had the audacity to yell at me. You know what happened next?”


    Sam shook his head, curious. “What happened?”


    Loreen replied, “Charlie sent his men to handle it, and they carved two words into that guy’s forehead.”


    Sam’s jaw dropped in shock. “Carved words into his forehead? That’s brutal!”


    Loreen countered, “You would understand if you knew that guy’s character. It wasn’t cruel at all considering who he was.”


    Sam quickly asked, “What exactly did Charlie have carved into his head?”


    Loreen exined, “That guy loved to call others ‘Pathetic Jerks,’ so Charlie had those two words carved into his forehead.”


    “What the…”


    Sam felt a chill run down his spine, as if those very words were etched onto his own forehead.


    Hemented, “This Charlie… what’s the difference between him and a devil? That’s just monstrous!”


    Loreen shot back, “I won’t let you speak badly about Charlie!”


    “Huh?” Sam was baffled and frustrated. “Loreen, I’m your brother! Why are you siding with him?”


    Loreen huffed, “Charlie is a hero in my eyes. If I have to choose between you, an uneducated guy, and him, my loyalty is with Charlie!”


    Sam eximed, “Loreen, you can’t possibly like Charlie, can you?”
