    Theodore replied, “I believe that’s what he meant—he’s back.”


    Rueben smiled and said, “Looks like he went to Japan but couldn’t track down Jasmine.”


    Theodore scoffed, “It’s not that simple to find her. The dense forests of Nishitama County are close to untouched wilderness. There’s a chance Jasmine could have fallen prey to wild animals.”


    Rueben nodded but voiced his concern, “Dad, Charlie is very close to Jasmine. I worry that he might not give up. What if he keeps searching?”


    Theodore dismissed the concern with a sneer, “Let him search! He can look as much as he wants! In Aurous Hill, Charlie might have some abilities, but in Japan? He won’t amount to anything.
