The Amazing son inw Chapter 2597 (Charlie Wade)
2<h2><span>CHAPTER 2597</h2>
Reflecting on the fact that he had never set foot in the United States, Jacob felt a deep-seated resentment towards ine.
Seated in the passenger seat, he muttered angrily, “ine’s been the bane of my existence! If it weren’t for her, I could have been a top student in the States, maybe even a professor at MIT or Harvard!”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
With frustration, he continued, “But look at me now! Just as I was about to graduate, I got trapped by ine and her worthless stock! I can’t shake it off!”
Charlie, trying to offer somefort, replied, “Dad, it’s important to look at things from a different perspective. Even though your marriage isn’t fulfilling, at least you have your health. Consider this: if you were destined for a car ident in the U.S. or caught in a shooting, staying in the country might have saved your life.”
Jacob frowned and retorted, “Don’t try to spin this. We were taught materialism and Marxist theory growing up. We didn’t believe in fate! We sang Soviet revolutionary songs and never relied on saviors. My life has been ruined by ine!”
Charlie let out a resigned smile and said, “Dad, how about we switch gears and talk about Hank?”
Jacob crossed his arms and scoffed, “What’s there to discuss? He’s just a guy with a higher degree. Big deal! Sure, he might be a bit better looking and younger than me, but what else does he have?”
Charlie replied awkwardly, “Well, doesn’t that cover quite a bit?”
Jacob rubbed his temples, feeling a headacheing on. “Charlie, does he have a wife and kids?”
Charlie pondered for a moment and said seriously, “A man out for a jog at night probably doesn’t have a wife, but at 55, he likely has children. So, he might have a past marriage but is single now.”
Frustrated, Jacob eximed, “I could tell something was off when I saw the way he looked at your Aunt. He’s into her! They’re both single, colleagues from top schools, and like to stay fit. They’re practically made for each other, and here I am, stuck!”
He then vented, “Can you believe it? A prestigious MIT professor teaching at Aurous Hill University of Finance and Economics? What’s wrong with him?”
Charlie nodded with a smile, “He does hold a position as a professor of Economics and Management at MIT, which is quite impressive.”
Curiously, Jacob asked, “So, you know about MIT?”
“A little,” Charlie replied. “Massachusetts Institute of Technology has ranked at the top globally in recent years. Their strongest programs are in science and engineering, particrly in fields like electrical engineering and aerospace. For economics and management, Stanford and Harvard are the leaders.”
Jacob inquired, “How do you know so much? Didn’t you just spend a year in college?”
Charlie casually responded, “Come on! Just because I haven’t been around much doesn’t mean I’m clueless!”<fn09db> Fresh chapters posted on f?i?n?d?n?o?v?e?l?</fn09db>
In reality, Charlie had always been fascinated by American universities. His mother, who graduated from Stanford, had grown up in the U.S. and was a high-achieving student herself.
Stanford is located near Silicon Valley, the heart of the U.S. tech industry, where many Inte giants began their journey after graduating. Many of the first-generation entrepreneurs who thrived in the early 1990s were ssmates of Charlie’s mother.
Charlie fondly remembered visiting Stanford with her when he was just five or six, during a trip to visit rtives in the U.S.
