Hank expressed his thoughts with a hint of emotion: “You know, once money reaches a certain point, it bes less meaningful to me. My lifestyle has been pretty much the same since I started earning half a million dors annually. Even when I began making ten million dors a year, my living conditions didn’t change.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">

“Although I wouldn’t consider myself wealthy, after years of hard work, I’ve umted tens of millions. I’ve also made some investments in stocks, including shares in Apple and Te. If everything were liquidated, it might be worth between 200 to 300 million USD. The Emgrand Group is a different story altogether, but I find myself unsure of how to spend it.”

“The house I live in isn’t extravagant; all my investmentsbined are worth about a million dors. I don’t see the point in living in an expensive home. It seems overlyplicated and unnecessary.”

“As for my car, I drive a Te—the mostmon model. It’s economical and environmentally friendly, costing less than 60,000 USD. My monthly expenses amount to just a few thousand dors, which my current sry easily covers. The remainder just sits in my bank ount, losing liquidity. In the future, I n to donate much of it to charity, which makes me feel that I might as well dedicate my time to teaching.”

Charlie, surprised, asked, “Aren’t you nning to leave behind a generous inheritance for your children?”

Hank smiled and replied, “Honestly, I haven’t thought much about that. My daughter is the same age as you, and she lives a lifestyle simr to mine. She earns money butcks any motivation to spend it.”

Charlie felt a pang of difort upon hearing this. It was evident that Hank had little interest in wealth and was more focused on educating others. What could he do to impress Hank and convince him to coborate?

As Charlie pondered, his attention was drawn to a ck-and-white sketch on the wall of Hank’s office. The simple lines depicted the silhouette of a tree. It wasn’t particrly distinctive; many might struggle to identify its type from just the outline.

Yet, Charlie studied the drawing curiously and asked, “Professor Hank, did you create this sketch yourself?”

Hank responded with intrigue, “How did you know? There’s no signature on it.”

Charlie smiled and said, “Because I recognize this tree.”

“Oh?” Hank leaned in, eager to learn more. “If you know it, can you share what you know?”

Charlie nodded, smiling, “Professor Hank, this is actually a redwood tree from California.”

Hank seemed taken aback, and Charlie continued, “Your simple strokes appear to be inspired by the emblem of Stanford University. If I remember correctly, the design in the center of the Stanford badge features a simr redwood tree.”

Hank asked in surprise, “Is Mr. Wade also a Stanford graduate?”
