“Guide…”
Charlie leaned in and whispered, “Have you met the guide?”
“No,” the man replied. “I’m not sure who the guide is. When we arrived in New York this time, we woke up in a closed garage. The organization had left us with the necessary equipment for the mission, along with some vital information. This information included details about our target, their family connections, social rtionships, and the powerful allies surrounding them. Given that we anticipated facing several high-level warriors, we prepared enhanced weapons specifically for this operation. The briefing outlined key points to consider and suggested tactics to employ. After some time to familiarize ourselves with the information, we awaited the signal to depart.”
Curious, Charlie asked, “What do you mean by transfer?”
The man exined, “The organization prohibits any direct contact between us and the guide. Instead, the guidemunicates the situation to her contact within the organization, who then rys the information to me.”<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Charlie inquired further, “How does your contact person convey the information to you?”
“They provided us withmunication gear, but only my device can pick up the voice of the contact person,” the man answered.
“Is your contact person male or female?” Charlie asked again.
The man shook his head, saying, “They use a voice changer, so I can’t tell if it’s a man or a woman.”
At this point, Charlie remarked, “Then my third aunt is likely your guide. She must have informed your contact about the optimal time to attack, and then your contact directed you ordingly.”
The man nodded, acknowledging, “That seems to be the case. I noticed that the woman who was taken out appeared to havemitted suicide by poison. She must have been affiliated with the organization.”
Charlie probed further, “So, did you receive orders to eliminate everyone inside, or were you supposed to leave some alive?”<fn9160> Find the newest release on findnovel</fn9160>
The man replied, “The order was to ensure that none were left alive.”
Charlie furrowed his brow, “Wouldn’t that include the guide? Is she aware of this?”
“I can’t say if she knows,” the man admitted, shaking his head.
Charlie pressed on, “What do you know about the guide?”
“Not much,” the man responded. “In the organization, the guide and the dead are just different roles. Among us, information about the dead is the most limited. We are monitored closely, almost like prisoners, so there’s little chance of obtaining additional information. We only know what the organization chooses to tell us.”
Charlie nodded thoughtfully and asked, “What happens after your mission isplete?”
The man exined, “Once the mission is finished, we return to the garage and receive drug injections there. We won’t have to worry about anything else; the organization will take care of our return.”
Charlie looked at him and questioned, “Your subordinates chose tomit suicide by poison. How does your organization handle the situation for your families?”
“Since we failed this mission, the organization willbel us as loyal to the British Lord, so they won’t cause trouble for our families. In fact, they’ll likely treat our families even better,” the man replied.
Charlie remarked, “That exins why you and your subordinates were so resolute in choosing poison.”
“Exactly,” the man nodded. “For most of the dead, there’s rarely a good ending; many die tragic deaths. However, if they die with loyalty, it’s often without pain. If it means securing better conditions for our families, it can be viewed as a noble death.”
Charlie then asked, “What is the scale of your dead soldiers?”<h3 ss="has-text-align-center wp-block-heading" id="chapter-list"><strong></strong>
