A scene filled with intrigue and magic unfolds in a modest roast goose shop located in Chinatown.
Once feared and notorious, five gang members who terrorized Chinese vendors now find themselves kneeling on the ground, cramming yellow, orange, and golden bullets into their mouths.
These 9mm pistol bullets are thick and cumbersome, making them far more difficult to swallow than even thergest of capsules.
To make matters worse, they have no water to aid them, forcing them to grit their teeth and swallow the bullets dry.
The most unfortunate among them is Will Johnson.<h3 style="background-color:DodgerBlue">
Will’s sister is involved with the boss of Burning Angel, and he possesses a ruthless nature that aligns well with the gang’s operations. He has managed to climb the ranks to be a middle manager in Burning Angel, overseeing the Chinatown area on behalf of the boss.
In the terminology of Hong Kong gangs, he is known as the Chinatown leader within Burning Angel.
However, his current situation is particrly dire.
While his four aplices suffer intensely from swallowing the 9mm bullets, they find some sce in the bullets’ rounded shape, allowing them to force them down their throats despite the pain.
Will, on the other hand, is in a far worse predicament.
He is being forced to consume a modified version of the bullets, personally disassembled by Charlie. Charlie meticulously dismantled each bullet, poured the propent into Will’s mouth, and then shoved the disassembled warhead and cartridge case into him, urging him to swallow as quickly as possible.
With the warhead removed, the sharp edges of the cartridge case often get lodged in Will’s tonsils, but Charlie doesn’t allow him the luxury of a slow swallow. He can only gulp it down as best as he can. After just one bullet, blood begins to pour from Will’s mouth as he desperately tries to swallow; his throat, mouth, and esophagus are all torn up by the jagged casing.
Witnessing this bloody spectacle, Gunbir, who stands nearby, struggles to suppress his own urge to vomit and turns his head away.
Charlie notices Gunbir’s reaction and asks, “Gunbir, how many times have you seen Will Johnson?”
Gunbir quickly responds, “Mr. Wade, I… I’ve seen him maybe three or four times…”
Charlie nods and prompts, “Give me a closer look. What was he doing every time you saw him?”
After a moment of thought, Gunbir recounts, “The first time I met him, he went to Aunt Wang’s cattle shop next door to collect protection money. Aunt Wang didn’t speak English and chased him away with a broom, which interrupted him. She was quite fierce…”
Will Johnson quickly interjects, “That old woman hit me first! I was just defending myself…”
Without hesitation, Charlie seizes Will’s left wrist and applies pressure, causing a sharp crack as the wrist breaks. Will screams in agony. But it gets worse for him as Charlie picks up a pistol, removes the magazine, grips the barrel, and brings the gun down forcefully onto Will’s right ankle. A loud crack rings out, leaving Will in excruciating pain, on the brink of unconsciousness.
Yet, Charlie doesn’t allow him to faint.
He raises the gun again and brings it crashing down on Will’s left ankle, turning it into a bloody mess.
Ignoring Will’s anguished screams, Charlie turns to Gunbir once more, asking, “What happened the second time you saw him?”
Gunbir replies, “The second time, he came to my store demanding three thousand US dors. I couldn’t provide it, so he and his crew beat me up, saying that today was the deadline.” Charlie nces at Gunbir’s bruised and swollen face, nodding slightly before grabbing Will by the cor and delivering four or five hard ps to his face until blood oozes from the broken capiries. He then tosses the nearly defeated Will aside.
Charlie continues, “What about the third time?”
