He was waiting for me in the royal stables when I arrived, and without hesitation, I went straight into his arms, surprising even him.

I pressed my lips to his, iming him before anyone present, letting it be known that it was me who held his heart and no one else.

I pulled back atst to stare into his eyes, and he kissed my temple gently before turning toward his horse. The stableman immediately brought a step for me to mount. I paused, ncing at it and then back to Lycannar’s face. A small, knowing smile tugged at his lips; it seemed he could read my thoughts, feel my

    energy.

He remained still as I mounted the horse skillfully, using him as my stool. Perfectly, I seated myself, and the stableman swallowed nervously, in awe at my skill.

“The king pampered her,” I heard someone whisper.

“Don’t you see how skillful she is too?”

Lycannar ignored them all, mounting behind me. My back pressed against his chest, his arms secure around

me.

“Ready?” he asked. I leaned back into him.

    “Yes.”

He kicked the horse, and in an instant, we were out of the Lycan Kingdom. The ride home was smooth and fast, and before I realized it, the horse stopped before the pack of white.

Neither of us dismounted immediately. I stayed still, letting the overwhelming feelings wash over me, wondering how he would react to the news of my trip.

Would he ask questions? Be suspicious? Wait?

With my heart heavy, I found his fingers on the reins and slowly entwined mine with his. His palm was warm, rger than mine, and his fingers beautiful, adorned with rings on his pinky and forefinger. Pure gold, powerful, manding.

“Lycan…” I whispered, and he leaned forward, nuzzling my hair. “Lycan… I… I have to tell you.”

“What?” he asked, kissing my hair while lifting it from my neck to ce a soft kiss there.

I sighed, my body responding to his touch.

    “Uhm… actually… it’s nothing that serious.” I stopped mid–thought.

Why was I scared? Because I feared his anger and I never knew what he was like when mad. Lycannar had never truly been angry at me. How would he be if he were?

    “Lycannar… I am going on a trip.”

He stiffened instantly. The warmth behind me seemed to vanish. I expected words, but he dismounted and stepped forward, staring at me as I looked away, swallowing hard.

Silence fell, thick and suffocating. His gaze alone made it worse. Slowly, I dismounted and turned to face him, my heart racing.

“My love…” I reached for him, but he stepped back, eyes unreadable. “Lycan…”

“Where are you going?” he asked, direct, unyielding.

“Lycannar…” I called softly, then swallowed. “It’s… it’s important that I go, and I don’t want to leave without saying goodbye.”

“Goodbye?” he asked again, and I quickly corrected myself.

“I will return before the full moon. This isn’t a final goodbye, my love.”

He stared, his usual frown softening but still present.

“You don’t want to tell me why you have to go or Where you are going,” he said.

    I swallowed hard.

“I have no intention of keeping secrets from you, and…” I stepped forward to take his hand. “I have no intention of lying to you.”<fn4eae> Checktest chapters at find{n}ovel</fn4eae>

“Then tell me where you are going,” he demanded again, but this time his voice was softer, almost pleading.

I looked at him long before replying

“I am going home. I am taking my parents‘ ashes back. They do not belong in the public memorial hall, and I do not truly belong in White Pack.”

A long silence fell, choking me. Finally, he spoke, more as a request than a question.

    “You wille back to me?”

    “I swear on my

    life.”

    “You will think of me?”

    “It’s hard not to.”

    “No man will touch you?”

    I nodded.

“My nakedness is yours, Lycan. No man will ever see me without clothes except you.”

He said nothing further. Swallowing hard, he lowered his gaze, then pulled back to his horse. His movements were unusual, controlled, deliberate. I saw him shift briefly, then regain his normal form.

“Lycan…” I called in concern. He paused, jaw set, before looking up at me. Something was off, but he was still

    himself.

“Tell me again that you wille back,” he demanded, his voice deep, edged with the growl of his beast. I nearly cried.

I stepped forward, cupping his face and pressing my lips fully to his.

“Before the full moon, I will return to you. I swear it.” I broke the kiss, breathing shakily. “But I won’t return to be your mistress, Lycannar, nor your concubine, nor your second choice. I will return to im you.”
