Chapter 49
“Give it to someone who likes it. I don’t care,” Macie said calmly.
Edward felt like he was about to explode. He stared at Macie’s expression. It was that same detachment and indifference he hated the most. She looked as if he were nothing more than a stranger to her.
“If you have nothing else to say, please leave. I’m going to sleep.” Macie dismissed him.
“Sleep? It’s only 10:00 pm!” Edward shouted. “I bought you a new ne, didn’t I? What more do you
want? Tell me!”
Macie instinctively stepped back when she saw Edward’s aggressive stance, as if he was about to throw a punch. She couldn’t help feeling afraid. <fn2d16> N?w ?ovel chapt?rs are published on Find★Novel</fn2d16>
If a husband hit his wife, it would just be considered domestic violence, not aggravated assault.
Otherwise, Edward would serve at least a three–year sentence.
As they stood off against each other, Macie’s phone on the bed suddenly rang. She rushed over to grab it, ready to call the police if necessary.
Edward caught a glimpse of her phone screen. It was still the old, cracked one. She hadn’t even used the new phone he bought her.
Then, he saw the caller ID. It was Julian.
He was surprised that it was a man and wondered who the hell this bastard was.
His fury spiked to its peak, far beyond what it had been moments ago. Hepletely lost control.
With one swift motion, Edward snatched the phone from Macie’s hands and smashed it onto the floor.
Macie gasped in shock, watching her cracked phone split into two. She snapped angrily, “Are you insane,
Edward?”
“You’re the crazy one! Who the hell is he? You were about to answer his call!” Edward roared, his jealousy
and rage consuming him,
Macie never even nned to answer. She had no intention of exining Julian’s identity to this rabid
madman.
She crouched to pick up her broken phone, but Edward kicked it away.
“It’s already broken in half! Why the hell weren’t you using the phone I gave you?!” Edward shouted again.
Macie took a deep breath. She had no idea why Edward had suddenly gone rabid.
All she wanted was to leave peacefully three dayster.

Without exining herself or answering him, she quietly stood up and turned to leave.
“Macie! Where are you going? Are you going to meet him?” Edward strode after her and grabbed her wrist, stopping her from leaving. “Don’t forget that you’re married to me! If you dare cheat, I’ll-” 1
A p across his face silenced the rest of his threat.
Edward clenched Macie’s arm tightly, ring at her with murderous eyes.
“Did you just hit me because of him?” Edward gritted his teeth, his eyes turning red. A bitter feeling
mixed with humiliation surged inside him.
“You’re a lunatic!” Macie shouted in rage. “You should get your head checked.”
She thought that Edward was genuinely mad! It was just one phone call, and he was using her of
cheating!
Yet, he had brought Sharon home. Who knew how many times they had slept together? He even kissed
her right in front of Macie!
Macie had never said a single word about it.
While Edward’s cheek burned from the p, his mind cleared a little. He demanded once again, “What’s his full name? When did you meet him? Is he in Kiyora now?”
“What does that have to do with you?” Macie shot back.
“Answer me!” Edward growled.
Macie didn’t say anything. She knew that this mad dog would go after Julian indiscriminately if she said
his name. She refused to drag Julian into this mess.
“Are you protecting him? Hah! Fine. Don’t let me find out!” Edward sneered, his rage boiling over.
“You’re hurting me!” Macie yelled. Her arm was aching under his grip.
Edward’s grip loosened slightly at those words. He then looked down at Macie’s slender arms.
He could easily wrap his hand around them. His moment of blind rage had left five distinct red marks on
her skin.
“If you dare step out of this house tonight,” Edward warned darkly, “I’ll break your legs. As for that man… I will ruin his reputation once I find out who he is. He’s finished.”
