“Why should I give it to you? Are you going to pester May?” Yosef snapped.
Edward pursed his lips before muttering, “I’m not pestering her. I just…”

He lowered his voice and continued, “I just want to know where she is and bring her back.”
“Why would you do that? Weren’t you the one who wanted a divorce? You already signed the divorce agreement. You’re her ex–husband now, so why are you still interfering in her life?” Yosef barked from the other end of the
line.
“I never wanted a divorce. I didn’t sign that, and I never even saw those documents<b>,</b>” Edward quickly denied.
“So, you’re saying that May forged them and lied to me? Isn’t that what you told Nn, too?”
Yosef listened to his grandson ranting on the other end, then spoke calmly. <fn137c> ?????? ???? Find1Novel</fn137c>
“That’s exactly what happened. She left me a copy and sent the original to you, but my signature was forged. It has no legal standing,” Edward insisted.
He paused for a couple of seconds, then softened his tone. “Grandpa, please don’t be angry. Macie only did this
because she was upset with me. Just ignore those documents.
“I never thought that she’d send it to you and then disappear. She’s just acting immature and impulsive. I’ll
apologize on her behalf. Just tear up the document and don’t take it seriously.”
Yosef remained expressionless as he listened. “Edward, have you ever truly understood May?
“You’re calling her immature? Are you belittling her? She was an exceptional student and a national
schrship recipient. She would never forge a document and send it to me.”
Edward tensed up when he heard that. His grandfather was taking this matter seriously. He wondered if that
meant that his marriage to Macie was truly over.
“No. The documents are-”
He quickly protested, but Yosef cut him off.
“You im that it isn’t your signature? Fine. Bring yourwyer today, and we’ll have it analyzed. I’ll hire my
own expert, too. That way, you won’t be able to argue your way out of it.”

When Edward heard that, he felt that the arrangement was unnecessary. He pondered why his grandfather wouldn’t believe him. Did his grandfather want them to divorce, too?
He clenched his fists and fell silent momentarily before saying, “Fine. We’ll do the analysis. But if they prove that my signature was forged, you have to stay out of this.”
Yosef rolled his eyes in exasperation.
He had wanted to intervene because he didn’t want to lose Macie as his granddaughter–inw. But his
grandson hadn’t been stepping up, and he could do nothing about it. 1
Then, Yosef remembered the note that hade with the divorce agreement.
It read, “The two–year contract has ended. I no longer have any connection to the Fowler family. Please don’t
get in touch with me.”
He sighed. After all, he was the one who had pushed Macie into this marriage for two years.
Edward had said it before–Yosef was the one who forced him into marrying her. He could offer her everything,
but love wasn’t one of them.
Hearing the rustling sounds of his grandson getting up on the other end, Yosef was about to hang up. But then, he heard the door open, followed by Edward’s voice.
“Sharon? What are you doing here? Didn’t you go back to your roomst night?”
Yosef froze mid–motion. His grip on the phone tightened before he roared, “Edward! You bastard! You actually let that woman into your home like she belongs there?”
His voice was so loud that Edward could hear him clearly, even with the phone at arm’s length.
Guilt and panic hit him all at once, so he hurriedly said, “Grandpa, let me exin-”
“What the hell is there to exin? No wonder May wanted to divorce you. You’re pissing me off.”
Yosef didn’t even let Edward exin. After yelling, he broke out into a coughing fit.
“Grandpa, what’s wrong? Is your asthma acting up again?” Edward asked urgently.
Ignoring Sharon, he rushed to his room, grabbed his coat, and was ready to head out.
