    For the first time in days, Edward slept soundly.


    The next morning, Yosef woke up early. While doing his morning exercises, he listened to Nn’s recount ofst night’s events.


    “He called at midnight? Doesn’t he sleep?” Yosef grumbled.


    “Mr. Fowler was very anxious at first. He seemed to want you to do something for him, but he didn’t say what. Instead, he started talking about Mrs. Fowler, saying that she had left,” Nn exined.


    “It took him this long to realize that Macie was gone? Even a corpse would’ve started to smell by now,” Yosef said, his face darkening.


    He asked Nn what else Edward had said, and after hearing the details, he was so angry that he stopped his exercises.


    “Forged signatures? How dare he even think that! Macie graduated from Arlington College. Do you really think she’d do something like that?” If Edward had been there, Yosef would’ve whipped him with his belt.


    “Are you saying that Mr. Fowler really signed the document?” Nn asked.


    “Of course. Otherwise, Macie wouldn’t have sent it to me. That brat must’ve signed it and now doesn’t want to admit it,” Yosef said with a cold snort.


    “But why wouldn’t he admit it if he signed it himself?” Nn asked, confused.


    “Why else? He’s regretting it! Calling you at 11:00 pm, frantic because he can’t find her–he’s lost his mind, “Yosef said, hitting the nail on the head.


    “I can’t figure out Mr. Fowler’s intentions. He seemed like he didn’t want a divorce, but then he said he did at the end of the call,” Nn said.


    Yosef immediately told him to call Edward. On the other end of the line, Edward had just woken up.


    “Grandpa, you’re up so early,” Edward said, answering the call.


    “Who can sleep like you? Your wife’s gone, yet you’re still snoring away,” Yosef said sarcastically.


    Edward instantly became alert. He sat upright in bed, his expression grim.


    “Grandpa, can you help me track Macie’s new phone number? She removed her phone card,”


    Edward said.


    “I found it four days ago,” Yosef replied.


    Edward’s heart leaped. “Send it to me, quick!”
