Chapter 1372

    ?Chapter 1372:

Hamilton’s expression remained icecold. “What do you know? If someone can’t be of use, they should be discarded.” He would not allow anyone, not even Dani, to defy him.

Her newpany was flourishing, and with Dani at its helm, it could easily be a seriouspetitor to the McCoy Group.

“She’s just a woman. If she’s gone, another will take her ce. No matter how deeply he feels for her, it’s nothing more than a fleeting attachment. How deep can his feelings really go?”

Hamilton was confident in his understanding of such matters. He had once been infatuated with Cedric’s mother, but at his elevated position, no woman was beyond his reach. Why hold on to any one person?

The only value Cedric’s mother had was that she bore him a son. In the cutthroat, emotionless world of high society, what ce was there for sentimentality? Such emotions were nothing but a joke.

Hamilton reached his conclusion. Cedric’s recent actions had made his capabilities undeniable: he possessed a sharp mind for decisionmaking, unwavering control, and naturalmand. He was the perfect choice to lead the McCoy Group forward.

Cedric’s rebellion, in the end, had been driven entirely by Dani. She was the one who had given him the strength to stand firm.

Take Niks, for example. As long as the ind existed, Niks had a fallback. If the ind were gone, Niks would have no choice but to obey Hamilton. Therefore, as long as Dani was eliminated, Hamilton believed Cedric would be the obedient son he had always wanted.

He didn’t ask for much, only that Cedric obey him as he had seen Dani do. Niks sat on the bed, mentally piecing together Hamilton’s intentions.

He said, “Why not try talking to Dani? Being allies with her is far better than being adversaries.” Dani’s talent for uncovering even his most closely guarded secrets proved just how formidable she truly was. Pushing her any further, Niks believed, would only lead to disaster.

“I’m convinced Cedric can’t live without Dani,” Niks added. “If anything happens to her, he could drag the entire McCoy family down with him.” He had spoken with Cedric countless times and knew how cold he could be to others—and how gentle he was with Dani. If she were taken from him, Cedric would surely lose control.

“What do you know?” Hamilton scoffed, brushing off Niks’s warning. “Once he ascends to power, what won’t he have? Even the most beautiful women will fall at his feet. How could my sons afford to get caught up in romantic entanglements?” He had no patience for such trivial matters.

“To stop Dani from gaining an advantage,e with me to your ind and bring everything back,” Hamilton ordered.

Niks’s heart sank at his father’s words. Those were the fruits of his long years of effort. “Could you spare a little for me? The McCoy Group doesn’t need these, does it?”

“Keep dreaming! Everything you own belongs to the McCoy Group!” Hamilton snapped, unconcerned by the request. He understood human nature all too well—money sparked endless ambitions. That was why he maintained tight control over his sons’ finances: to keep them in check and ensure their obedience. In that moment, he stood with a smug expression, thoroughly satisfied that he was securing the path for Cedric’s eventual rule.
