Chapter 1375

    ?Chapter 1375:

A faint grin crossed his face as he trailed behind Hamilton, disappearing into the distance.

When they reached Oiscoll, Alexander wasted no time and approached Hamilton directly. Hamilton lounged in a grand, goldtrimmed chair that felt like a throne. From Alexander’s vantage point, it seemed as though he were staring up at a king.

“You’re Alexander, I take it?” Hamilton’s lip curled in distaste. “Hard to believe Dani ever had such poor judgment.”

The jab hit Alexander like a punch to the gut, erasing his confidence.

He opened his mouth to exin, but Hamilton cut him off. “You think you measure up to Cedric? You’re not even in the same league. If Dani was willing to stoop that low, maybe she isn’t as picky as I thought.”

Without missing a beat, Hamilton turned to his secretary. “Start scouting for men who resemble Cedric and Alexander. Send them all to hover around Dani. Sooner orter, one of them will catch her eye.”

“Yes, sir,” the secretary replied promptly.

Then Hamilton turned back to Alexander with finality. “That’ll be all. You may go now.” He waved Alexander off, dismissing him outright. In Hamilton’s eyes, a man like Alexander had no future—and certainly no seat at his table.

Alexander paused, stunned—but he did not leave. “Mr. McCoy, you can find a dozen men who look like me. That’s easy. But I’ve known Dani for years. That connection? You can’t replicate it.”

He took a steady breath. “On the way here, someone told me you disapprove of Dani being with Cedric. Honestly, I understand. A woman like her—sharp, independent—doesn’t fit the mold. In our world, most families want a softspoken wife who knows when to stay quiet. Dani isn’t like that. And yes, my father felt the same way. That’s what caused the rift between him and Dani.”

Hamilton scoffed. “What, you think I’ll end up regretting it like your father did?”

“Not at all,” Alexander replied. “You’re leagues above him. You built an empire—no onees close. Your judgment and foresight are unmatched. I didn’t grow up with power the way Cedric did; I had to fight for every inch. That’s why I need someone like Dani by my side. But Cedric? He has you. With your guidance, he could dominate the world.”

Alexander knew exactly what to say—and when to say it.

Hamilton had been at odds with Danitely, and the tension was wearing on him. So when Alexander spoke those words, they sounded like a soothing melody. He let out a low chuckle, the creases in his face deepening with the motion. “d to hear it. So, if I’m understanding you correctly, you still have feelings for Dani?”

Alexander didn’t hesitate. He nodded firmly. “Yes, I do. I always regretted divorcing her.”

Hamilton studied him carefully. “And Dani—do you believe she still has feelings for you?”

The question struck a nerve, just enough to crack Alexander’sposed facade. His lips pressed into a thin line before he answered, “I’m not sure. But she’s always been sentimental. What we shared wasn’t fake. That much I know.”

Hamilton paused, expression unreadable, then replied evenly, “I understand your intentions. If you’re serious, I can lend a hand. But hear me on this—Cedric is my son. You’re not toy a finger on him. Got it?”
