?Chapter 1376:
Alexander nodded eagerly. “Yes, of course.”
Hamilton waved him off with a flick of his hand. “Go on, get some rest. I’ll handle the n and contact youter.”
Alexander didn’t argue. He turned and left without another word. Outside, he stared up at the mansion, jealousy coiling tight in his chest. Cedric… that lucky bastard really had everything.
By the time Dani returned home, Cedric was already up. The night air was heavy, streetlights casting pale gold across the driveway and shadows beneath the trees. Cedric sat on the vi’s front steps, unmoving, clearly waiting for her.
Dani saw him immediately. Herpanions quietly slipped away, leaving her alone with him in the stillness of the night.
Cedric wore only a thin sleep shirt and matching pants, his hair tousled from sleep with a few stubborn strands sticking up and softening his usually polished demeanor. His voice was scratchy, thick with sleep. “Where have you been?” He looked as if he’d just rolled out of bed.
Dani paused to study him—the breeze tugged at his pajamas, molding the fabric to his lean frame. “What are you doing out here?” she asked.
“I couldn’t find you. The housekeeper said you’d gone out.”
“Mm, I had something to take care of. Come on, let’s go back inside.” Dani reached for his hand and he allowed her to lead him without protest.
He nced at her hand in his. “Where were you? Don’t wander off sote. It’s cold out—your hands feel like ice.”
Dani offered a vague hum in response.
As soon as they crossed the threshold, they noticed three overly curious guests still lounging in the living room, eyes wide and clearly hunting for drama. Without looking at them, Dani led Cedric straight to their bedroom.
He had woken in the dead of night simply to know she was home. The moment their eyes met, his body rxed and he drifted back toward sleep. The strain of overseeing the newpany these past weeks had clearly worn him down.

On the edge of slumber, Dani jerked awake as her phone buzzed. She nced at the screen and saw a message from an unfamiliar number. Without hesitation, she opened it.
“Dani, this is my new number in Oiscoll.”
Before she could respond, another buzz arrived.
“Let me know when you’ve got time to meet up!”
“Anytime works for me.”
“I’ll adjust to whatever time works for you. Just reach out when you’re free.”
Messages kepting. With a flick of her thumb, Dani blocked the number without a second thought.
Cedric shifted beside her, still groggy. “Who keeps texting thiste?”
“Just spam,” she said lightly. “I blocked it.”
Content with her answer, Cedric fell back asleep.
The next morning, Dani was buried in reports at her desk when Carol marched in, arms folded tightly across her chest. “Dani, don’t you think something feels off?”
