Chapter 1377

    ?Chapter 1377:

Dani kept her eyes on the paperwork. “What is it?”

“I noticed a bunch of new faces in thepany.”

Dani shrugged casually. “Newpany, new faces. What did you expect?”

Carol leaned in, frowning. “That’s not what I mean. All these new people look eerily simr.”

Dani paused and set her paperwork aside. She stood and headed downstairs to investigate. Carol followed closely, lowering her voice. “Don’t you see it? Every other person here resembles Cedric or…”

    “Alexander,” Dani finished tly.

Carol nodded eagerly. “Yes, exactly! But why? Did HR deliberately hire people to suit your tastes?”

Dani shook her head firmly. “No way.” Cedric had flown in the entire HR team from his hometown. There was no chance they would fill the office with lookalikes.

She fell silent for a moment, then her eyes drifted up and locked on the McCoy Group building across the street.

That day, an unexpected face turned up among the job applicants at Dani’spany.

“You’re not a good fit for this position,” said Dexter Bauer, the HR manager handpicked by Cedric, his tone unwavering.

Alexander’s eyes narrowed with hostility. “And what exactly makes me unfit? Are you saying I failed to meet your standards, or are you just brushing me off because you don’t like how I look? If you’re rejecting me, at least exin why.”

Dexter scoffed. “I make the calls here. If I say you’re not a fit, that’s the end of it. No debate.”

Alexander didn’t flinch. He folded his arms, posture smug. “What do you mean, no debate? Are you the one in charge here? Can you actually speak for Dani? I’ve run apany before. Now I’m applying for a basic sales role. What’s wrong with that? Your job listing says anyone who fits the requirements is wee to apply. Was that just for show?”

Dexter’s face flushed with fury, his eyes bloodshot. He struggled for words but managed only another hostile re. “I said you’re not a fit. That’s final.”

Alexander took a step closer. “You’ve got two options—either go tell Dani I’m here, or I’ll call a reporter and let the world see how her staff is already abusing power they haven’t earned.”

Dexter turned red and looked like he might copse under the confrontation.

Carol, who had been watching from the doorway, shot a quick look at the brewing tension before darting upstairs to alert Dani.

By the time Dani descended, she found Alexander standing tall, radiating smug satisfaction, while Dexter looked cornered and defeated.

Alexander jabbed a finger at Dexter’s forehead. “This is Oiscoll, not Olisvine—and definitely not Phillips Group. You don’t call the shots here anymore!”

A frosty voice cut through the tension. Dani had descended the stairs, gaze icy. “Oh really? And since when do you own the ce?”
