Bright, almost as day, the full moon blessed us. The elders had been called. The priestess of Hue Pack was on standby, and guests were starting to arrive.

Ka Yadev never disappoints. It was as though she wanted to prove she could host a ceremony better than Dessyn, as though she wanted everyone to see that the Lycan King had chosen wrong by not letting her host his party. As though to get revenge for what happenedst night at the Lycan Kingdom.

I stood at the window, fully dressed for the night, staring up at the radiant full moon. It reminded me of her. Zeph. It was as the night itself when I had met her and realized she was fated for me.

Five years ago, when I was at my lowest.

I lowered my gaze and tried to shrug off the feeling. I deserved more than what the moon goddess had given me.

“My goodness. Look at how beautiful she is.”

“Wait until you step into the ceremonial hall. You’ll see how she prepared everything,” came another voice.

“But… who is the mate of Alpha Nyroth?”

“We’ll find out tonight. Come on. Let’s go,” someone replied.

I overheard the guests moving inside, saying, and just then, a carriage arrived. I focused on the crest of ckbridge Pack. Under my watchful gaze<i>, </i>Ka rushed out of the ceremonial hall to wee her father, who had arrived.

Her flowing dress caught my attention, and I swallowed hard at how elegant she was, how she carried herself with effortless grace.

    Ka.

I watched her father dismount the carriage. Graceful as ever. The great Alpha of ckbridge Pack.<fn4786> Content originallyes from findnovel</fn4786>

We had discussed further ns to save Ash Pack. After reaching out to Horn Pack and others for support, I had instructed Ka to wait for their feedback<i>. </i>Once received, we would set the rumors straight and protect

    Ash Pack members.

A small growl escaped me as I noticed the men sneaking nces at Ka. She was elegant enough to attract attention.

Lost in jealous thoughts, I froze when I heard footsteps approaching.

“Alpha Nyroth, you are needed in the hall,” Kai’s voice called, and I exhaled.

After what happened weeks ago at White Pack, when Zeph had savagely banged his head, no one hated her more than my beta now.

I turned to see him prepared, and I nodded. Together, we headed out. In the living room, I saw my mother

also ready. She paused when she saw me, then a wide grin spread across her face.

Quickly, she rushed to hug me tightly. Pulling back, her excitement was palpable.

“Thank you for finally doing this, Nyroth. Thank you so much.”

1 returned her smile and nodded.

I should have listened to you all along. Zeph is a rogue. Not just that. She is violent, a killer. Tonight, I will expose her before everyone.”

“I trust Ka to handle that part well. I’ll get Olivia, and we wille soon,” she said, and I nodded.

Leaving the living room. I entered the long ceremonial hall where the rejection would take ce. The priestess was still busy with the rituals, and the hall was filling with guests, each at their reserved table.

At the high table for the Lycan Kingdom, no one upied it yet, and for a brief moment, panic fluttered in me. I wanted them toe and see for themselves what Zeph truly was. Especially Apex Blood. Perhaps when he realized the woman he was obsessed with was nothing but a violent, murderous rogue, he would

    turn away.

“Alpha Nyroth,” a voice called behind me, and I turned to see White Pack arriving. Alpha Auedric, who had summoned me, stepped forward with a polite smile. Behind him were his beta and a few elders.

Ahead, Dessyn arrived with her younger brother and her father, and I nearly smiled in satisfaction. Good. They would see how worthless the so–called Zeph really was.

“Thank you for inviting us to your ceremony. I thought you never had a mate,” Alpha Auedric said, loud enough that the bustling hall quieted.

I offered him a gentle smile, but before I could speak, Ka stepped forward, nodding with her sweet, posed smile.

“Why don’t you wait for the mate to arrive? You’ll see for yourself,” she replied. For a brief moment, I thought I saw Alpha Auedric smirk, then he nodded and moved to the table reserved for White Pack, settling in.

I watched him for a moment before Ka’s hand came to mine, steadying me.

“We’ve prepared everything, Nyroth. In a few minutes, the ceremony will start. Should I add that she’s a whore and a cheater too?” she asked, and I swallowed hard.

Just then, the entrance opened again, and everyone froze. The two Lycan Princesses had arrived.

A historic first. Lycans invited to a Werewolf ceremony, honored guests no less. I stood still, watching them move gracefully into the hall. Heads turned; their grace was intoxicating, the thrill undeniable.

“You should add that she’s a thief too, Ka. She stole, she cheated, she’s violent,” I said, gritting my teeth. Ka smiled, clearly pleased.

She walked over to the Lycan Princesses and bowed. Whether we liked it or not, the Lycans were still above us. Ka directed them to their reserved table, respectful and tactful, though they barely noticed her.

They were still waiting for an apology from Ka for her rude actions at the beta ceremony the previous

night. I sighed, wondering if Apex would appear.

In that moment, a powerful energy filled the ceremonial hall, making my heart clench. I realized it was not Apex, though at first I thought it was.

She arrived in grand style, as though celebrating the fact she would be rejecting me.

    Zeph.

d in a white flowing gown, her shoulder bare by design, her long ck hair cascading down her back, she entered. Soft gasps echoed around the hall. When she stepped in, it felt as though I didn’t exist.

Her eyes sought the Lycan Kingdom’s table alone, as if nothing else mattered, and just like that, she made her way there. She bypassed me entirely, as though I were invisible.

That action infuriated me, and I swallowed hard. Just as I had nned not to expose her about the stolen money she had offered me at the start of our courtship, tonight, it would finallye to light. I vowed it.
